Attendance Policy
Standard attendances policy of Newton North:
9 total absences in a quarter = N
9 tardies in a quarter = N
Regular class attendance is both necessary and expected. If you have a concern about getting to class on time, please speak with me about it.
Late Assignments
A late assignment is anything that is not handed in at the beginning of class. Excuses/explanations such as, “I have it on my flash drive and I need to print it out,” “My printer ran out of ink,” “My email attachment won’t open,” “My email is not working,” etc. will not work and the assignment will be considered late. Please take the necessary steps to ensure that you do not have a late assignment. Email an assignment to multiple accounts as attachments and in the body of your email. Save your assignments on multiple devices, etc.
Late papers and projects will be marked down one full grade for each day the assignment is late. If there are extenuating circumstances make an appointment to come see me and we will discuss the situation. Honesty is paramount.
Classroom Culture: Newton High Schools’ Stand Against Bullying
Newton North is an active anti-bullying community. It is our responsibility to take a stand against negative behaviors. We all have the power and responsibility to create a safe, respectful and caring community.
